Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Anderson, 72, were held Tuesday at the Deer Creek Lutheran Church near Carpenter with the Rev. Don Comnick in charge.

Mrs. Anderson died Sunday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital.

Irene Galt was born July 20, 1891 to Mr. and Mrs. John Galt in Freeborn County, Minnesota. She graduated from Otranto high school. She attended college at the Southern Minnesota Normal School, Austin, received a teaching degree and was a rural community school teacher. Later she attended nursing school at Park hospital in Mason City. She was employed at Mercy Hospital in Mason City.

On December 29, 1914, she was united in marriage to John T. Anderson. They lived on a farm near Meltonville during their married life. After his death she moved to Carpenter for a short time, then to St. Ansgar where she resided until her death.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. L.G. (Elva) Blakestad of St. Ansgar, one son, Mahlon Anderson, Austin, a brother Cliff Galt, Stacyville; and a sister, Mrs. C.G. Mackin, Stacyville; also five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Burial was in the Deer Creek Lutheran cemetery.

ST. ANSGAR,IOWA — Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m., at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, for Irene Anderson, age 72. Burial will be in the church, cemetery with Schroeder & Houg Funeral Home in charge.

She died Sunday at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. L. G. Blakestad, St. Ansgar; a son, Malon; a brother, Clifford, Galt; and a sister, Mrs. Charles Mackin, all of Stacyville.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons.
