Funeral Services for Mrs. Lawrence I. Ask, 66, who died at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital Saturday, June 9, were held Wednesday, June 13, at the First Lutheran church with the Rev. O.A. Langehough officiating.

Julia Moen, daughter of Ole E. and Rose K. Moen, was born on the Moen homestead west of Carpenter April 6, 1890. She was graduated from the rural schools of Worth county and baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the Deer Creek Lutheran church. She attended the St. Ansgar Seminary and was a graduate of the Cedar Valley Seminary, taking specific work in business. She then assumed a secretarial position at Tripoli, Iowa where she was employed until her marriage to Lawrence I. Ask November 1, 1916 at the First Lutheran parsonage with the Rev. M.E. Waldeland officiating.

The couple resided on the Ask farm all of their married lives. The past two years she had been in failing health, having undergone major surgery at Rochester, Minn., with subsequent surgery again this spring. Mrs. Ask had been a patient at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital for five and a half weeks until her death June 9, 1956.

Mrs. Ask is survived by her husband, Lawrence, one son, Duaine, two sister, Mrs. Anton Nelson of Osage and Mrs. John H. Olson of Des Moines; three brothers, Ole E. and Alvin Moen, both of Carpenter and Lloyd of Osage. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Olene Biederman, and a brother, Carl Moen.

Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Langehough in charge of the committal services.
