John Alfred Robertson was born in Lindelse, Denmark, October 27, 1876. His parents were Nels and Rasmina Robertson. The family came to this country in 1887 and settled in Worth County, Iowa.

Mr. Robertson was baptized by the Rev. Bertilsen in Denmark and confirmed in the Deer Creek church, near Carpenter by the Rev. Olson.

He enlisted in the United States army at Vancouver, Washington in 1904 and served three years in the Philippine Islands, returning 1907 when he was mustered out.

In April 1908, he went to Minneapolis where he took a business course.

December 28, 1912, he was united in marriage with Sophia Knutson of St. Ansgar by the Rev. M. E. Waldeland, pastor of the First Lutheran church. Since then they have made their home in Minneapolis. He was engaged in the automobile business, and for the past several years had acted as auditor for the Minneapolis branch of the Paige Auto Co., where he was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him. He was not only efficient in business but possessed the faculty of acquiring many friends who will always remember his kindly manner.

Mrs. Robertson passed away very suddenly Sunday morning, July 28, at the Knutson home in St. Ansgar. He and Mrs. Robertson came down from Minneapolis the previous Monday in response to a message announcing the death of her mother, Mrs. Bertha Knutson.

He is survived by his wife, Sophia, three brothers, Robert, Mark and Nels, and four sisters, Mrs. Marcussen of Bremerton, Washington, Mrs. Larson of Sioux Falls, SD, Mrs. Neilsen of Neenah, Wisconsin and Mrs. Wambeam of Carpenter, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, July 29, from the Knutson home at 3:45 p.m. and at the First Lutheran church at 4 p.m., the Rev. Olaf A. Langehough officiating.

Towne, Prescott, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Larson, Sioux Falls; Mrs. Neilsen, Esther and Daniel Neilsen, Neenah, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Robertson and family, Blooming Prairie, Minnesota; Mrs. Hannah Wambeam and children of Northwood, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. George Anderson and Ben Aldal of Austin, Mn.; Mrs. Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Pecheck, L. K. Thompson, Earnest Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. John Aldal, Blooming Prairie, Minn. and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Johnson of Louisville, Ky.

ROBERTSON, John

Mr. and Mrs. John Robertson were called here from Minneapolis the first of last week by the death of Mrs. Robertson's mother, Mrs. Bertha Knutson.

Mr. and Mrs. Robertson remained for a few days visit. On Sunday at 3:30 Mr. Robertson was taken suddenly ill with a hemorrhage of the lung, from which he passed away.

The funeral was held at the First Lutheran church, Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock conducted by Rev. Olaf A. Langehough.
