Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at Faith Lutheran Church in Mitchell for Bessie Schulz, age 83, of Osage, formerly of Mitchell. Rev. Rose Marie Nack officiated. Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mitchell. Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, in charge of arrangements. Bessie died Sunday, June 3, 2001 at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home.

She was born on November 5, 1917 in Racine, Wisconsin, the daughter of John Sr. and Marye (Talsky) Orth. The family moved from Racine to Mitchell where she was raised. She graduated from Mitchell High School. On Dec. 5, 1936 Bessie married Carl 'Scoop' Schulz in Mitchell. They lived their entire married life in Mitchell County. The couple owned a grocery store in Mitchell. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Carl 'Scoop' Schulz on Oct. 1, 1989; a brother, John Orth, Jr.

Those that survive her include her sister, Rose Mary Ellingson of Northwood; several nieces and nephews.

BESSIE SCHULZ

MITCHELL - Bessie Schulz, 83, of Osage, formerly of Mitchell, died Sunday (June 3, 2001) at Stacyville Community Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Mitchell with the Rev. Rose Marie Nack officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Mitchell.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, and will continue one hour before services at the church Tuesday.

Bessie was born Nov. 5, 1917, in Racine, Wis., the daughter of John Sr. and Marye (Talsky) Orth. The family moved from Racine to Mitchell where she was raised. She graduated from Mitchell High School.
