Alton ‘Ike’ Klinger

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 8, 1988 at Champion Funeral Home, Osage, for Alton ‘Ike’ Klinger, 74, of Osage. The Reverend Roger Hoppenworth of Rock Creek Lutheran officiated and burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Mitchell. He died Saturday, March 5, 1988 at his home.

He was born April 12, 1913 in Mitchell to John and Ida (Rusten) Klinger. He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1931.

Mr. Klinger worked for his father in the general store in Mitchell and for a time in Waterloo before moving to Mitchell County.

His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include a sister, Helen Norby of rural Nora Springs; two nieces, Carol Dodds of San Diego, and Cheryl Jerabek of Jasper, Alabama; two nephews, Jim Hartwig of Los Angeles, and Terry Hartwig of Jackson, Mississippi.
