Were Held July 3
At First Lutheran ChurchFuneral services for Albert R. Beyer, 81 of St. Ansgar, who died Saturday, June 30 at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage. Were held Tuesday, July 3 at First Lutheran Church here with the Reverend Robert Porish officiating.
Albert Robert Beyer was born on August 28, 1908 on the Beyer farm, Newburg Township, Mitchell County, to Albert William and Martha Lemke Beyer. He was baptized into the Christian faith at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rock Township on January 17, 1909 where he was also confirmed on April 25, 1925 when Reverend J. Gemaehlich was Pastor. He attended rural school in Newburg Township.
Albert married Lois Wilde on August 28, 1945 at St. John’s Church in Charles City. They made their home southwest of St. Ansgar where he resided until the time of his death. Albert farmed and also worked for the Milwaukee Railroad until the time of his retirement in 1973.
He enjoyed nature, fishing, hunting and playing horseshoe. He took pleasure in working in the garden and keeping the lawn well groomed. He also enjoyed watching the deer and wildlife around the farm. He served on church committees, deacon of the church, school board of rural schools and Boy Scout committees.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; three children, Ronnie and wife, Roselyn of Rapid River, Michigan; Larry and wife, Irene of St. Ansgar; Jane Sherrard and husband, Robert of Grafton; nine grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two step great-granddaughters; two sisters, Hedwig Bork, Grafton and Lavina Hannam of Toeterville; and by many nieces and nephews.
Burial was in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.
