A private family funeral service for Raymond D. Rosenberg who died Wednesday, September 22, was held Friday, September 24, 1993.
Raymond Rosenberg was born April 3, 1928 on the family farm to George and Anna (White) Rosenberg. He was baptized at home and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton. Ray graduated from eighth grade at the country school, Newburg No. 5.
He drove truck for many businesses in the St. Ansgar area. He worked for the railroad company and was a farm hand for Ken Goplerud.
June 12, 1948 he married Barbara L. Pike in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Seven children were born to them. They lived in Mason City where he worked for Pritchard Motor Co., Al & Dick’s Station and nights at the Sugar Beet Plant. They moved back to St. Ansgar, owning and operating the Sinclair and Standard Stations at different times. After that Ray farmed his family farm, a farm near Caprenter, and later south of Toeterville.
Ray drove school bus for 34 years for the St. Ansgar Community Schools. He enjoyed bowling, dancing, and in his early years, singing with his brother Russ. He belonged to the Moose Lodge, St. Ansgar Saddle Club, Immanuel Lutheran Friendship Club, St. Ansgar Sportsman’s Club and served on the Toeterville church board over the years.
Ray is survived by his mother, Anna, of Grafton; one brother, Russell and wife, Kathy Rosenberg, St. Ansgar; eight children: Terri and husband Gary Johnson of Elmore, Minnesota; Karen Rae and husband Charles Kittleson, St. Ansgar; Randy Ray Rosenberg, stationed at Suttgart, Germany, U.S. Army; Ricky Ray Rosenberg, Jr. and wife Celine, Savannah, Georgia; Sharon and husband Mark Krebsback, Cold Springs, Minnesota; Rebecca Streit, Monticello; Debra and husband Jim White of Mason City; and 22 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, George and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Randy (Debra) Rosenberg.

Funeral arrangements were by Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar. He was born in Mitchell county, Iowa. He died at Grafton, Worth county, Iowa.
