McIntire Woman
Victim of Heat,
Dies in Hospital

A McIntire woman died in an Osage hospital Tuesday morning from the effects of sunstroke, to bring Iowa's death toll to 11 during the 4th of July holiday weekend.

Mrs. Matt Eernisse, 72, left her home in Mclntire early Monday afternoon to visit a friend in town. Not finding the friend at home, she assumed she had gone to the berry patch and proceeded there to find her.

Became Uneasy

Meanwhile her husband became uneasy when his wife had not returned home at 6 p. m. and went to look for her. After a search Mrs. Eernisse was found about 6:30 p. m. face down and unconscious in the berry patch. She had a temperature of 107. After first aid by a physician she was taken to the hospital at Osage where she died.

The body was taken to the Martz funeral home at LeRoy, Minnesota, where rites were pending Tuesday.

Daughter survives

Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Mrs. Ray Jordan of Bailey and several step-children.
