OSCAR KNUDSON OF OSAGE DIES

Funeral Services Are to Be Conducted
at Lutheran Church Saturday.

OSAGE, IOWA — Oscar Knudson, age 56, of Osage, Iowa, died Thursday at 1 p. m, of a stroke, at the hospital at Independence, Iowa.

Mr. Knudson was born near Orchard in Mitchell county March 15, 1881, the son of Ole and Carrie Knudson.

A farmer, he had resided in Mitchell county until July 1936, when he entered the psychopathic hospital at Iowa City for treatment. Later, he was transferred to the hospital at Independence.

He is survived by his aged mother, Carrie Knudson of Osage; by three sisters: Mrs. John Markham of Otranto, Mrs. Earl Nyce of Marshalltown, and Mrs. Martin Steffen of Minneapolis; and by three brothers: Pete and Julien Knudson of Osage, and Herman of Mason City. He was unmarried.

Funeral services will be held at the Lutheran church at Osage Sunday at 2:30 o'clock, in charge of the Rev. T.P. Solem. Interment will be on the family lot at Osage.

Oscar Knudsen was born March 15, 1881 at Lincoln, Mitchell, Iowa to Ole Knudsen and Kari Olsdatter, the second of their eleven children.

Oscar was baptized on June 6, 1881 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa and confirmed at same on June 13, 1897. He never married, nor had children.

1885: Ole Knudson 30, Carrie Knudson 27, Carl Knudson 5, Oscar Knudson 4, Lawrence Knudson 2, Peter A Knudson 0.

1895: Oscar Knudsen age 13.

1900: Ole Knudson 46, Carrie Knudson 54, Carl Knudson 20, Oscar Knudson 19, Peter Knudson 14, Herman Knudson 12, Nellie Knudson 11, Julian Knudson 8, Laura Knudson 6.

Found in the 1910, 1915 censuses at West Lincoln, Mitchell, Iowa: Says he is married, not true.
1910: Peter Adolf Knudsen 25, Oscar Knudson 28, Nellie (Pernille) Knudsen 21.

1915: Oscar Knudsen age 33.

Found in the 1920, 1930 censuses at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa:
1920: Oscar Knudsen age 38.
1930: Oscar Knudson age 48.

Oscar Knudsen died April 24, 1937 at Independence, Buchanan, Iowa and was buried at the Osage Cemetery, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa.
