STACYVILLE, IOWA - Frank Blake, age 73, died suddenly at his home Tuesday of a heart attack.
He was born on a farm near Stacyville on August 9, 1869, the son of Philip Blake, one of the earliest landholders of Stacyville township. Farming was his life occupation
On November 17, 1891, he married Catherine Pitzen, of Stacyville. They began farming
at once, east of Stacyville, retiring 15 years ago when they moved to a new home in Stacyville.He leaves a widow; 10 children: Mrs. Ferdinand Neiss, Will Blake, Fred Blake of McIntire; Joe of Chicago; Tony at home, Leo of Rochester, Minn.; Mrs. Leo May, Stacyville; Mrs. Fred Lutgen, Chicago; Mrs. William Barr, Kearney, Nebraska, and Marcella Blake, Chicago; 35 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In November, 1941, Mr. and Mrs. Blake celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
The funeral will be held on Friday morning at Visitation Church, and burial will be in Sunset Rest Cemetery.
