Evelyn Johnson, 82

Evelyn "Mina" Johnson, 82, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, died Wednesday, March 22, 2000 at her home.

Survivors include her husband LeRoy; seven daughters Lillian (Almo Jahr) and Marlys (Foe Follmuth), St. Ansgar; Darlene Main, Fresno, Calif., Grace (Herman Peterson), Inver Grove Heights; Linda Garvey, Bolan, Iowa, Rebecca (Gary Frederickson) Byron, Monica (Myron Hemann) of Mc Intire, Iowa; four sons, Robert and wife Patty, Winona, Wayne and wife Neilene, St. Ansgar, Iowa, Lynn and wife Teri , Hibbing, David , Bryon; 46 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter, and a very large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, two brother, one daughter, two daughters-in-law, one grandson, two great grandchildren.

· Service: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 25 at Mona Lutheran Church, Mona, Iowa with the Rev. Lydia Mittag officiating.

· Interment: Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mona, Iowa.

· Visitation: Friends may call at the church one hour before the service.

MINA JOHNSON

MONA, IOWA - Evelyn "Mina" Johnson, 82, of Mona, died Wednesday (March 22, 2000) at her home. She was born March 4, 1918, in Petersburg, Jackson County, Minn., to Alfred and Bessie (Peterson) Eggestein. Mina attended schools in southern Minnesota.

She married LeRoy Johnson on March 7, 1934, in Albert Lea, Minn. They lived in Austin and Rose Creek before moving to a farm near Mona, where they have lived since June of 1946.

Mina was a member of the Mona Lutheran Church, where she was active in WELCA, quilting and many other church activities. She was a Bible study leader at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar. She was active in the Flying Fingers Craft Club.

Her interests were quilting and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, LeRoy; seven daughters, Lillian (Almo) Jahr and Marlys (Joe) Follmuth, both of St. Ansgar, Darlene Maine, of Fresno, Calif., Grace (Herman) Peterson, of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., Linda Garvey, of Bolan, Rebecca (Gary) Fredrickson, of Byron, Minn., and Monica (Myron) Hemann, of McIntire; four sons, Robert and his wife, Patty, of Winona, Wayne and his wife, Neilene, of St. Ansgar, Lynn and his wife, Teri, of Hibbing, Minn., and David, of Byron, Minn.; 46 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a very large extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Mona Lutheran Church, Mona, with the Rev. Lydia Mittag officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mona.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, Minn., and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
