ST. ANSGAR, IOWA -- Services for Vern M. Cowell. 87, who died Saturday at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage, will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Schroeder and Dunn Funeral Home in St. Ansgar: burial in St. Ansgar Cemetery.

Vern was born on January 30, 1891**.

Survivors include: his wife, Pernnie; four daughters, Mrs. Elmer Bruesewitz of St. Ansgar, Mrs. Dale VanHorn of Fort Collins, Colorado, Mrs. Larry Crilly of Austin, Minnesota, and Mrs. Eric Teigeler of Cedar Falls, Iowa: five sons: Lee of St. Ansgar, Donald of Honolulu, Hawaii, Allen of Charles City, Larry of Elkader and Russell of Waterloo; 30 grandchildren and 22 greatgrandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Bessie Coonradt and Mrs. Leona Clespie, both of Waterloo, and Mrs. Lulu Pederson of Belview, Minnesota.
