Moe at Mona Lutheran Church and was confirmed by the Rev. Olaf Langehough in the same church. He attended rural school at Union township No. 3 and later at Otranto where he was graduated in 1935.

He was united in marriage to Ruth Priem of Otranto, on October 15, 1938. They farmed in Union township northwest of Toeterville for 27 years.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar where he willingly served on the building committee and in various other capacities. He was secretary for the Union No. 3 school district for 20 years, and was a member of the Farm Bureau where he also served on various committees.

Preceding him in death were his mother, and twins who died in infancy.
