Horace Tyer
OSAGE, IOWA — Services for Horace Tyer, 86, were 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church, Osage; burial in Osage Cemetery; he died of natural causes Friday (Oct. 21) at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minn.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby; a son, Robert of Clear Lake; eight stepchildren; four sisters, Bernice Griggs of Sumner, 111., Freda Rust of Lakeland, Fla., Maxine Edwards of Florence, Ariz., and Neva Cummings of Luverne, Minn.; and five grandchildren, 34 stepgrandchildren, six great-grandchildren and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith, in 1960.
Mr. Tyer was plant operator for Osage Municipal Utilities for 26 years and also owned and operated the Osage Mobile Home Trailer Court; he was the U.S. Weather Observer from 1956 to 1967; Champion Funeral Home, Osage, was in charge of arrangements
