Emelia Newman

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 27, 1988 at Champion Funeral Home, Osage, Iowa, for Mrs. Claude (Emelia) Newman, 93, of Orchard, Mitchell county, Iowa. The Rev. Joseph Nesheim of Our Savior's Lutheran Church officiated, and burial was in the Orchard Cemetery. She died Thursday, December 22, 1988 at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage, of natural causes.

Mrs. Newman was born July 5, 1895 in Mitchell County, Iowa, to Gilbert and Beret Easted. She attended Orchard schools and married Claude Newman in 1918.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1940; and one sister.

Survivors include 12 nieces and nephews.
