Ruth Jean Konrad

CARPENTER, IOWA — Ruth Jean Konrad, 77, of Carpenter, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 20, 1998, at her home in Carpenter.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 24, 1998, at the St. Ansgar Baptist Church, St. Ansgar, Iowa, with the Rev. Gary Gonnerman and the Rev. Howard Reed officiating. Burial will be at the Newburg Cemetery, Carpenter.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, 207 S. School St., St. Ansgar.

Ruth Jean Konrad was born on September 14, 1920, in Barton Township, Worth County, Iowa, to Clarence and Albertine (Paasch) Anderson.

She was united in marriage to Raymond Konrad on February 22, 1941, in Osage, Iowa.

Ruth Jean trusted the Lord as her Savior in the Otranto Community Church at special meetings at the age of 33.

She was a member of the St. Ansgar Baptist Church, serving as Sunday School teacher for many years.

Ruth Jean Konrad is survived by her husband, Raymond, of Carpenter, Iowa; two sons, Joel and his wife, Linda, of Forest Grove, Ore. and Mark and his wife, Dee Ann, of Tigard, Ore.; three daughters, Dian Hoelscher and her husband, Rodger, of Greene, Iowa, Carol Nelson and her husband, Glenn, of St. Paul, Minn. and Lois Paik and her husband, Eui Hum, of Beaverton, Ore.; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Roger Anderson and his wife, Marion, of Dickeyville, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandsons and one great-grandson.
