OSAGE, IOWA - Mildred L. Young, 74, of Osage died on Monday, May 12, 1997, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church south of Osage, with the Rev. Chris F. Gugel and Vicar Steven Barker officiating. Cremation will take place following services. Inurnment will be at Little Cedar Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Champion Funeral Home and one hour before services at the church.

Mildred L. Young was born Nov. 6, 1922 on the family farm near St. Ansgar.

Survivors include her husband, Marion Young of Osage; two sons, Robert Young of Osage and John Young of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mildred Schroeder was born November 6, 1922, at Liberty, Mitchell, Iowa to Alvin Schroeder and Lillian Josephine Winer, the oldest of their three children, and their only daughter.

Mildred married Marion Young on July 24, 1943 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.

The couple had five children: (details on the children can be found at Find a Grave Memorials).
Judith Ann (born July 21, 1944 Osage, Iowa, married Dennison Leroy Hansen January 25, 1964 Osage, Iowa, deceased);
John Alan (still living in 2013);
Robert Charles (b November 23, 1950 Osage, died July 30, 2003 Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa);
James Marion (b January 19 1952, d January 20, 1952 both at Osage, Iowa) and
Helen Pauline (born June 17, 1953 Osage, Iowa, d July 11, 1953 Iowa City, Johnson, Iowa.

Mildred died May 12, 1997 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa and was buried at the Liberty Cemetery, Little Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
