ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Cassandra L. "Cassie" Pettey Fricke, 12, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, was taken by Jesus to her home in heaven on Tuesday (Aug. 5, 2003).

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Byron Northwick officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery, St. Ansgar.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, 207 S. School St., St. Ansgar.

Cassie was born on June 6, 1991. She grew to be a very special, outgoing young lady and a joy to all who were blessed to know her.

Cassie loved shopping, swimming, doing arts and crafts, singing karaoke and going to Girl Scout camp.

She also loved working on the farm, fishing, and all kinds of animals. She wanted to be a veterinarian someday. Cassie, or "Peanut" as she was nicknamed by her dad, enjoyed going to church and helping out. She had finished her first year of confirmation at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar.

Welcoming Cassie to her eternal home are her great-grandma, Lois Miller, and her grandma, Ardith Fricke.

Left to cherish her precious memory are her parents, Julie and Gary Fricke, and big brothers, Joshua and Christopher Johnson, at home; maternal grandparents, Bill and Kathy Jackson and maternal great-grandparents, Eleanor Jackson and Kenneth Miller, all of Mason City; paternal grandfather, Norbert Fricke of Millville, Minn.; aunts and uncles: David Fricke and his wife Jackie, of Forest Lake, Minn., Gayle Fricke, of Zumbro Falls, Minn., Dawn Unez and her husband, Gary, of Oregon, James Jackson and his wife, Rachel, of Plymouth, Jodie Fink and her husband, Jim, of Rockford, Greg Bradbury and his wife, Stacey, of Mason City, Tim Bradbury and his wife, Bonnie, of Nora Springs, and Lynne Martindale and her husband, Jim, of Glendora, Calif.; and many cousins, great-aunts and uncles and friends.

We love you, Cassie. Your beautiful smile will live in our hearts always.

Cassie was born on June 6, 1991, the daughter of Julie and Michael Pettey. She lived in Rockford before moving to St. Ansgar in 1997. Cassie grew to be a very special, outgoing young lady and a joy to all who were blessed to know her.

Cassie loved shopping, swimming, doing arts and crafts, singing karaoke and going to Girl Scout camp.

She enjoyed rollerblading, riding her bike, going fishing and playing with her speial friend, Jordan.

Cassie, or “Peanut” as she was nicknamed by her stepdad, enjoyed going to church and helping out. She had finished her first year of confirmation at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar.

Welcoming Cassie to her eternal home are her grandfather, Sam Ewing; great-grandma, Lois Miller; her stepgrandma, Ardith Fricke, and uncle, Ron Ewing.
