RICEVILLE, IOWA — Gordetta J. Mosher, age 92, of Riceville, died Sunday (April 6, 2003) at the Riceville Community Rest Home in Riceville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Gale Richards, officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville.
Gordetta June Warner was born June 7, 1910, at Marble Rock, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Zoe (Kenney) Warner. Gordetta attended local schools and graduated from Marble Rock High School.
On Oct. 17, 1927, she was united in marriage to Virgil W. Mosher in Mason City. To this union, two sons were born, Willis and Harvey.
Gordetta assisted her husband in their electrical business.
She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, the Order of Eastern Star and enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Gordetta is survived by one son, Harvey and his wife, Jane, of Riceville; four grandchildren, Dawn and Bob Angus, of Aurora, Colo., Amy and Brad Beckmann, of Melbourne, Fla., Kerry and Sharon (Smith) Mosher, of Fort Mill, S.C., and Kyle and Kathy (Eastman) Mosher, of Mason City. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-grandchild.
Gordetta was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Zoe Warner; her husband, Virgil in 1985; a daughter-in-law, Donna Hubbard Mosher in 1977; her son, Willis in 1989; a granddaughter, Melanie; one brother, Ceo Warner; and a sister, Lucy McCauley.
