ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Mary Jo Molsberry, age 59, and formerly of Minneapolis, Minnesota, died Friday (Feb. 6, 2009) at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Home, St. Ansgar, Mitchell county, Iowa.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 412 N. Broadway, Manly, with the Rev. David G. Kucera officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 E. Spring St., Manly, with a scriptural wake service at 6:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Mary Jo Molsberry Memorial Fund.

Mary Jo Molsberry was born October 20, 1949, in Mason City, the daughter of Robert and Joan (Brennan) Molsberry. She graduated from Newman Catholic High School, Mason City, and Hamilton's Business College with a paralegal degree. Mary Jo moved to Minneapolis and worked more than 30 years for Moss-Barnett Law Firm. She retired in 2006 due to health issues. She met her significant other, Gary Heit, in 1980 in Minneapolis; they lived in the same apartment complex.

Mary Jo loved her arts and crafts; she enjoyed airbrush work and watercolor painting. Her favorite was cross-stitch. She even involved her family in going to cross stitch conventions! Mary Jo enjoyed going to dinner theaters and trying new restaurants in the metro area. Mary Jo's favorite holiday was Christmas; especially spoiling her nieces and nephew with gifts. She belonged to painting groups and movie groups and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Plymouth.

Mary Jo is survived by her significant other, Gary Heit of Minneapolis, Minn.; brothers, Michael (Marcia) Molsberry of St. Ansgar and Kevin (Lisa) Molsberry of Algona; nieces, Amy (T.J.) O'Donnell of Elma, Kathlean (David) Ring of Osage, Rachel and Rebecca Molsberry of Algona; nephew, Staff Sgt. Ryan (Kelly) Molsberry of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; three great-nephews and one great-niece; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Joan Molsberry.
