Martin Simon Funeral January 8

Funeral services for Martin "Teenie" Simon, 86, of Stacyville, who died Saturday, January 5, 2002, at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home, Stacyville, were held Tuesday, January 8 at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, with Rev. Joseph Schneider officiating.

Martin "Teenie" Simon was born November 11, 1915 in Stacyville, the son of Jacob and Anna (Heaman) Simon. He was a lifelong Stacyville resident attending Catholic School and graduating from Visitation Catholic High School. He was an avid fisherman and cribbage player. He was a member of Visitation Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Martin is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Taylor of Waterloo; Margaret Anderson and husband James of Cedar Falls; a brother, Alfred Simon of Austin, Minnesota; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister Angeline, a sister Marcelline Miller, a brother, Ralph Simon.

Burial was in the Visitation Catholic Cemetery, Stacyville.

STACYVILLE - Martin (Teenie) Simon, 86, of Stacyville, died Saturday (Jan. 5, 2002) at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville, with the Rev. Joseph Schneider officiating. Interment will be in the Visitation Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with a Forester Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and Scripture Service at 7 p.m.
