Arthur Duane Jensen, age 92, of Little Cedar and formerly of St. Ansgar, Mitchell county, Iowa, died Saturday, January 31, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar with Rev. Robert Porisch officiating. Burial will be in St. Ansgar Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Arthur Duane Jensen was born on February 16, 1916 to Marion and Cecelia (Hansen) Jensen on the family farm in Mitchell County. He was baptized June 25, 1916 at the St. Ansgar M.E. Church. He graduated High School May 29, 1936 from St. Ansgar. On May 25, 1941, he married Evelyn Bente. They had one child, Ruth.

Arthur and Evelyn farmed for many years until retirement to St. Ansgar. Arthur also sold Pioneer Seed Corn for 35 years. In retirement he enjoyed his hobby of woodworking and playing cribbage with his friends.

Survivors include his daughter Ruth Low and David; grandchildren Kim Schwab and Beth, Kelly McPhail and Brian, Angela Atwell and Todd, Kerry Randall, Dan Low and Ron, Laurel Feldt and Spencer, Kari Low; great grandchildren include Kasey Schwab, Arthur Duane Schwab, Luke, Joshua and Tyler Scheer, Taylor, Turner and Sawyer Atwell, Molly and Katey Randall, Adam, Maegan and Abby Boggs, Nathan and Justin Loney, Gabe, Jack and Morgan Feldt; great-great-grandchildren Damien, Ava and Harley. He is also survived by his brother Clarence Jensen and wife Wilma and many nieces and nephews.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn, brothers Orlo, Merle and Harold, and sisters Helene, Maureen and Edna; also son-in-law Dean Loney and grandson Dan Loney.
