Yvonne Valaree Eidness, age 77, of Lake Mills, and formerly of Osage, Iowa, died on Monday, May 19, 2008, at the Lake Mills Care Center in Lake Mills, Iowa.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills with Rev. W. Paul Weeg officiating. Burial will be in Salem Memorial Cemetery, rural Lake Mills, Iowa.
Yvonne Valaree Parent was born December 7, 1930 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Lionel and Margaret (Lehrke) Parent. She grew up in and graduated from Central High School in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
On May 3, 1952 she was united in marriage to Duane Eidness at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage, Iowa. Duane passed away in 2002. Yvonne worked as a bookkeeper for Arts Shoes in Osage for several years. After moving to Lake Mills, Iowa she worked as a cook at the Lake Mills Care Center.
Yvonne loved her family dearly. Her life revolved around her grandchildren. She had spent several years as care giver for her granddaughter Shana in Chicago, Illinois. She was a resourceful cook.
She is survived by her children, Steve (Judy) Eidness of Lake Mills; Kimberly Johnson of Osage; Denise Beaudoin of Evanston, Illinois; and David (Judy) Eidness of Lake Mills; 11 grandchildren: Josh, Lacie, and Jenna Eidness, Valerie Marker, Elizabeth Johnson, Danielle Lemmerman, Clint Johnson, Shana Beaudoin, Stephanie, Courtney, and Katlyn Eidness; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Monte Parent of Louisville, Kentucky; Ronald (Phyllis) Parent of Holmen, Wisconsin; James (Mary) Hetzel of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; two sisters, Beverly (Bob) Erickson of Cashton, Wisconsin; Gloria Knoke of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Lois Parent of Stevenson, Michigan; brothers-in-law John Jostad of Galesville, Wisconsin; Harvey Jostad of Holmen, Wisconsin; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Duane; sisters, Annette Jostad, Carol Jostad; brother, Lionel "Bud" Parent; great-grandson, T.J. Marker; and step-father, Gerald Hetzel.
The Mittelstadt Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
