Naida Jeanne Gruhlke, 92, formerly of Eyota, Minn., died on March 12, 2008 at Doshere Memorial Hospital in Southport, North Carolina.

She was born on October 16, 1915 in Stacyville, Mitchell County, Iowa. Naida grew up in Iowa and went to school at St. Ansgar High School. She later lived in Austin and worked at Hormel.

She married Charles Gruhlke on October 27, 1945. The Couple moved to Kasson, Minnesota, where she was a homemaker. They moved to Eyota in 1966. In 2006 Naida moved to Southport to be near to her daughter.

Naida is survived by her son, Bruce (Tonia) Grulke, Eyota, Minn.; daughter, Judy (Charles) Elledge, Southport, N.C.; four grandchildren, Kimberly Hoyt, Shawn Erreson, Andrew Grulke and Daniel Gruhlke; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Jane (Ronald) Soiney, Austin.

She is preceded in death by her husband; one brother; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be on March 20, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Faith United Methodist Church in Eyota with the Reverend Mark Woodward officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Mazzeppa City Cemetery. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to Faith United Methodist Church.
