OBITUARY

Julia E., daughter of Anson H. and Irena Wentworth was born Sept. 15, 1842. On Oct. 6th 1866, she was united in marriage at Richmond, Vermont, with John S. Hill. After nearly 35 years of happy wedded life she was taken from our midst on Sept. 5th 1901, leaving to mourn her loss a husband, four children, Mrs. Cora L. Snow, Mrs. Margaret L. Chatman, Mrs. Julia M. Dixon and George W. Hill. Besides these, she leaves four sisters and one brother.

She was a kind and loving wife and mother, and was always for her husband and children first, never giving a thought for her own comfort.

Nearly twenty years ago when Elder Coates was holding religious meeting at the Lincoln Baptist church, she found her Savior and though she never united with the church, she afterward led a Christian life. She always talked with her husband and children at the morning prayers and tried to impress upon her children their duty to God and to live an upright Christian life.

On her death bed amidst great suffering, her every thought was for those around her. She gave each one kind advice, impressing upon them their duty in leading a good Christian life.

She always greeted any and everyone who came to her home with a kind welcome, and was never happier than when her husband and immediate relatives were gathered around her fireside.

Her last hours were seemingly peacful and happy, and after her death her face had the same look of peacfulness as it did during her last moments.

Her favorite song, entitled "In the Sweet By and By", was sung at the funeral services, and it seemed to her husband and children as if the sweet mother's voice had joined with the singers in singing the song as they remembered hearing her sing in years gone by.
