OSAGE NEWS--
Martha Winsor born at Sinedan, Northamtonshire, England, August 26, 1837, and died at McIntire, Monday April 10, 1911. She was married to Charles Harrison in New York state in October, 1853, removing very soon afterward to Delaware county, Iowa.
They came to Mitchell county, about 50 years ago, and raised their family on the old farm south of town. The husband is still left to mourn the companion of over fifty years. Ten children blessed this union, all of whom grew to manhood and womanhood, and married. One daughter, Mrs. Flora Steele, died about eleven years ago. The others, all of whom were able to see their mother in her last hours, are William H. of McIntire; Mrs. Lucy Allen of Beloit, WIs., Joseph of Brainard, Minn.; Alvin of McIntire; Charles W. of Riceville; Mrs. Cora Gooder of McIntire; Mrs. Alta Minor of Jenkins township; Homer of Riceville; and Mrs Mattie Plumer of McIntire. There are also twenty-nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren, two brothers, Henry Winsor of Minneapolis, and Sam of Princton, Minnesota, and a twin sister, Mrs Sarah Robbins left to mourn their loss.
The two brothers both came, but the sister, Mrs. Robbins lies very low at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. Kesten, south of town.
Mrs. Harrison was a woman of sterling qualities whose every day was a model all might follow. She was a cheerfull helpmate doing her share always toward the home-making. Her children and grandchildren rise up and call her blessed and they were blessed, indeed, in having such a woman among their ancestry.
