CHARLES M. COLE

The subject of this sketch was born in Dane County, Territory of Wisconsin on September 7, 1846 and died at his home near Osage on the 10th day of February 1908. He removed to Iowa in 1866, locating in Floyd county, removing to Osage in 1890.

On March 12, 1871 he was married to Jemima Murrey, two children being born to them, Mr. Archie Cole of this city and Mrs Wesley Fisk of Orchard, both of whom with their mother survive. Mr. Cole was one of a family of eight children, only two of whom remain, Mrs. J.C. Otto and Mrs. A. M. Fuller of this city, the last surviving brother, Mr. Isaac Cole having died exactly two weeks before deceased.

In addition to the above deceased leaves a grandchild, the son of Mr. Archie Cole, born on the same day of the month as his grandfather.

Mr. Cole has been for many years a familiar figure upon the streets of Osage, bluff mannered and good natured, he made many friends, who find it difficult to believe that he has passed away.
The funeral was held on Tuesday, Rev. Shaffer conducting the services.
