Funeral services for Maxine R. Stille, age 82, of Osage, Iowa, were held on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage with the Rev. Dennis Hanson and Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial was in the Ell Township Cemetery in Klemme, Iowa.

Maxine died Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center - Hospice Unit in Osage.

Maxine was born June 4, 1924, in Britt, the daughter of Lewis and Clara (Michelsen) Mau. She attended school in Klemme and graduated from Klemme High School in 1942. Maxine was united in marriage to Bill Stille on July 12, 1945, in Seattle, Wash. They lived in Liberal, Kansas, and then San Antonio, Texas, until Bill was discharged from the service in February of 1946. They lived in Torrance, Calif. for a year when Bill attended Northrop Aeronautical Institute. After-wards they moved to Clear Lake and then to Britt. On July 9, 1951 they moved to Osage.

Maxine worked at the Sears Catalog Store in Osage for 25 years. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church where she was a member of WELCA and had helped with the Saturday school program.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Lowell Mau.

Maxine is survived by her husband L. William Stille of Osage; four children, Steven W. (Marcia) Stille of Charleston, W. Va., Douglas (Shirley) Stille of Aitkin, Minn., Brian (Karla) Stille of Wellsburg, and Luann (Randy) Heuton of Amarillo, Texas; eight grandchildren, Heather (Brian) VanderPloeg, Travis Stille, Steven D. (Leslie) Stille, Kyle Stille, Andrew Nowasell, Sara Stille, Laura Stille and Elizabeth Heuton; five great-grandchildren, Colton, Taylor, and Justin VanderPloeg, and Alyssa and Madison Stille; two sisters, Audrey Stille of Pocomoke City, Md., and Bonnie (Paul) Johnson of Thompson.

The Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements, (641)732-3706.
