Obituary-Scrivens
Lovina Scrivens was born in Albany, Wis., June 19,1855 and died at Rochester, Minn., March 19, 1920 at the age of 65 years.
When a child she, with her parents, moved to Osage, Iowa, which was her home for many years.
In 1872, she was united in marriage to Darwin Rogers, of Charthage, Mo. To this union three children were born.After the death of Mr. Rogers, she was again united in marriage to Mr. George E. Gordon, of Danville, Ill., in 1873. Six children were born to them.
Following the dissolution of this union she was married in 1909 to John C. Ott, of Taopi, Minn.
Eleven weeks ago she was taken seriously ill with yellow jaundice, from which she never recovered.She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, six children and two sisters, fifteen grandchildren.
Funeral was held at the chapel at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by Mrs. Minnie Sype, of Nevada, Iowa.Article in Paper -
Among the relatives to attend the funeral of Mrs. John Otto, who was brought here from Rochester for burial Tuesday were; Mr. J. B. Nelson, of Austin, a sister, Mrs. H. M. Jones and daughter, Hazel, of LeRoy, Minn., and her daughters, Harriet Wood, of Nevada, Iowa, (who is assistant to the state worker for the Seven Day Adventists); Mrs. T. Ryan, of St. Paul, and a sister, Mrs. Wesley Wood, of Mitchell, S.D.
