Mary Ruth Loften, age 88, formerly of Osage, Iowa, died Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at Westward Heights Care Center in Lander, Wyoming.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church in Osage with Rev. Dr. J. Samuel Subramanian officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.

She was born October 18, 1918, to Edward and Bessie (Bevington) Granville in Escondido, CA where she was raised. On March 24, 1946, she married Robert D. Loften at the Chapel of the Roses in Chula Vista, CA. They moved to Osage in 1951, where they raised their four children, Sheila, Douglas, Thomas, and James. She moved to Riverton, Wyoming in 2001.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Joseph, Edward, John, and Betty, her husband, Robert, her daughter, Sheila, her son, Douglas, and her grandson, Bruce.

Her survivors include her two sons, Dr. Thomas Loften and his wife Cheryl of Riverton, WY and Dr. James Loften and his wife Martha of St. Cloud, MN; grandchildren, Eric Loften of Washington D. C., Karla Loften of Corpus Christi, TX, Brian Loften of Anchorage, AL, Rob Loften of Osage, and Kelly (Loften) Ross of Osage, Dag Tollefson of Riverton, WY, Sissy Johnson of Oslo, Norway, and the Holly kids, Andrew, Amanda, David, Brian, Gregory, Maureen, and Mary; eight great-grandchildren;a daughter-in-law, Mary C. Loften of Osage; and numerous nieces and nephews.
