Dr. F.L. Anderson, 1869-1936, Mitchell County, Iowa

OBITUARY:

Dr. F.L. Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. L.P. Anderson, was born April 23, 1869, in Dubuque, Iowa. When he was thirteen years old the family moved to Floyd, Iowa. In this community the Doctor spent his early manhood. He attended the public school and graduated from the Floyd high school. Following this he attended the college of medicine at Louisville, Kentucky, from which he graduated in March, 1893 with his degree of medicine. Almost immediately he came to McIntire and established his practice.

On July 12, 1894, he linked his life with Etta Munson and for the forty years they had together they served the community as only a doctor and his helpmate can.

The doctor became ill Saturday, October 17 and grew rapidly worse. The dreadful erysipelas spread beyond the power of the attending doctors and loved ones, and at four-thirty, Thursday, October 22, [1936] he who had eased so much pain for others was granted eternal release by the Heavenly Father.

Funeral services were held from the late home in McIntire, Saturday, October 24 at 2 pm and from the M.E. Church, conducted by the pastor. Burial was made in the Wayne cemetery.
