Mrs Etta M. Anderson, 77, passed away Friday morning, Feb 3, 1950, at the Cedar Valley hospital in Charles City, Iowa, following an eight month illness

Etta M. Anderson was born July 12, 1872, in Wayne township, was a daughter of Levi G. Munson and Ann Downes Munson, pioneer residents of Mitchell county. All her life she has resided in or near McIntire, completing her education in the local school.

Here, she grew to womanhood living at home with here parents. On July 12 1894, she was married to Dr. Frank L. Anderson, the resident physician. No children were born to this union. {There is an infant child marker at their grave site.} McIntire then became their home, side by side they worked in the community caring for the sick and the aged, until the doctor's death, Oct. 22, 1936.

Then Mrs. Anderson carried on the nursing work alone to the best of her ability until her sickness sent her to the hospital on June 9, 1949. Besides being an ideal helpmate for the doctor she found time to take an active interest in outside affairs and was a loyal member of Victoria Chapter No. 304, Eastern Star, of Riceville, Iowa. For a time she was a member of the McIntire school board. She was also a hard and willing worker in the Women's Society of Christian Service of the Methodist church of McIntire. She was genial and considerate in thought and action and her memory will be fondly cherished by a large circle of acquaintances.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Methodist church. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Adelbert T. Munson of Dooley, Mont. and one sister, Mrs. Alma R. Beebe of McIntire, Iowa. She is survived by one brother, George A. Munson of Plentywood, Mont., and one sister (Emma J.) Mrs. George A. Waters of Waukon, Iowa, and also several nephews and nieces.

Rev. Paul Brown conducted the funeral services Sunday, Feb. 5, at 1:30 p.m. in her home and 2 o'clock at the Methodist church in McIntire. Members of the Eastern Star attended in a body.
