Robert Clark, Well Known Orchard Farmer,
Is Dead

Robert Clark, one of the best known and progressive farmers of the Orchard vicinity, passed away at his home last Friday, after a short critical illness.

Robert Leonard Clark was born in the vicinity of Orchard, on May 2, 1864, and died on the evening of Sept. 24, 1931.

His early life was spent in wholesome farm environment and he naturally turned to farming for his life work.

He was married to Dorothy Cheney on March 23, 1886, and to that union five children were born, all of whom are left to mourn the passing of their father. Leon Robert, living near Orchard; Ethel Mae Engelbrecht, Sioux City; Bessie Marie, who is a teacher in the schools; and Minnie Belle Moran, Osage; and James Albert, Orchard.

Besides his immediate family he leaves also his aged mother, Mrs. Lucinda Clark, who is 94 years of age; five sisters, Mrs. Mary Cheney, Orchard; Mrs. Elsie Dodge, Orchard; Mrs Hattie Hall, Iowa Falls; Annie Sweet, Wyoming, and two brothers, Edwin A. Clark, Osage, and Dennis J. Clark, Orchard.

Mr. Clark lived for his family and was interested in their welfare even above his own, which is a high tribute to be paid any father. Not only his family, but the whole Orchard community will soon be aware of the fact that one who was interested in good community activities and who was a loyal neighbor has gone to another world.

Mr. Clark had not been in good health for a number of years, but in spite of this fact his passing came rather suddenly after a period of but a few days of confinment to his bed.

Funeral services were held at the Clark home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, in charge of the Rev. Nelson C. Drier, of the Osage Congregational Church. Interment was in the Orchard cemetery.
