Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Anderson, age 82, who died at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center, in St. Ansgar, Iowa, on June 28, 1983, were held on June 30, 1983 at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, Iowa, with the Rev. E.C. Franke officiating.
Alma (DeMaris) Anderson was born on September 7, 1900 in Alexander, Iowa, the daughter of George and Ella DeMaris. She was a lifelong resident of the Meltonville area, moving there with her parents as a young girl. She was baptized, confirmed and a member of Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter.
She married Nels Anderson in Northwood, Worth County, Iowa on March 20, 1917, and eight children were born to them.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Nels; three sons: Howard, Victor and Dean; one grandson; her parents; four brothers; and one sister.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by two sons, Russell of Manly, Iowa, and Neil of Plymouth, Iowa; by three daughtes: Mrs. Fae Eckert of St. Ansgar, Mrs. Alta Van Hooser of Nora Springs, Iowa, and Mrs. Robert (Iris) Pflieger of Plymouth, Iowa; also by 26 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; and by one great-great-grandchild.
Burial was in the Deer Creek Cemetery with Pastor Franke in charge of committal services.
