Funeral services for Mrs. Hugh (Viola) Neeley, 63, who died at her home northest of St. Ansgar, Iowa, on June 19, 1983, were held on June 22 at the St. Ansgar United Methodist Church with the Rev. Loyd E. Johnson, pastor, and the Rev. Bruce Wittern of Des Moines officiating.
Viola Louise Lorenzen was born on October 16, 1919, the daughter of Martin and Cora (Torgerson) Lorenzen in St. Ansgar. She graduated from St. Ansgar high school and attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls.
She married Hugh Neeley on August 27, 1937. They lived for a time in St. Ansgar, later moving to a farm near Toeterville. For the past 21 yeras they lived on the Lorenzen farm north of St. Ansgar.
Mrs. Neeley was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her husband, Hugh; by two daughters: Mrs. Marcella Spindler of Stacyville, Iowa, and Mrs. Roger (Beverly) Bartz of Osage, Iowa; by two sons: Gary and Keith of St. Ansgar; by ten grandchildren and other relatives.
Burial was in the St. Ansgar cemetery with Rev. Johnson and Rev. Wittern in charge of the committal services.
