Funeral services for Martin H. Dutte, 86, who died on May 24, 1983, were held on May 27, 1983 at St. Peter Lutheran church, Toeterville, Iowa, with the Rev. Charles Bunk officiating.
Martin Henry William Dutte was born on March 27, 1897 in Union township, Mitchell county, Iowa, the son of Henry and Josephine (Zerk) Dutte. He was baptized on April 4, 1897 at St. Peter Lutheran church, Toeterville, and confimred there on Palm Sunday, 1911. He attended the Drown school two miles north of Toeterville and as a young man farmed with his father. In 1918-19 he served in the U.S. Army at the close of World War I. Upon his return he made his livelihood as a farm laborer and at various other jobs in Mitchell and Worth counties. His longest stay was at the Bruesewitz farm a mile north of Grafton.
He is survived by his two sisters, Laura of Grafton and Mrs. Freeda Diedrich, rural St. Ansgar, Iowa; also by several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, John, Louis and Ernest Dutte.
Military honors for Mr. Dutte were by the honor squad of the Walter T. Enneberg Post 358 of the American Legion. Burial was in the St. Peter cemetery with Rev. Bunk in charge of committal services.
