Funeral services for Mrs. Esther Cordes, 86, who died October 5, 1983 at her home in Mitchell, were held October 8, 1983 at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Osage, Iowa, with her son, Rev. Robert Cordes, the Rev. Charles Bunk and the Rev. George Hope officiating.

Mrs. Cordes was born September 13, 1897 in Fenton. She married Walter T. Cordes in 1921 in Dubuque, Iowa. She lived near Mitchell for 61 years, and was a member of the Faith Lutheran church, Mitchell.

She is survived by her son, the Rev. Robert Cordes of Weimar, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Metz (Kathleen) Drew of Osge and Mrs. Evan (Cleone) Currance of Rochester, Minnesota; also 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Burial was in the Osage cemetery.
