LAST RITES FOR MARIE STOVERN
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8, 1945

Funeral services for Marie E. Stovern were held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the First Lutheran church in St. Ansgar, Iowa. Rev. Olaf A. Langehough officiated. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Marie Elizabeth, youngest daughter of Erick and Randi Stovern, was born on July 4, 1871, on the Stovern farm, three miles north of St. Ansgar and passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 1945, at the age of 74 years, 5 months and 1 day.

She was baptized on July 23, 1871 by Rev. Ostby and confirmed by Rev. J. Olson on October 3, 1886.

For several years she was a successful teacher in the rural schools near St. Ansgar and for twenty years she held a responsible position with the late Dr. Bockman of St. Paul, MN. After his death, she returned to St. Ansgar where she made her home with her sisters: Mrs. Annie Thorson and Maren Stovern. The latter part of July, Marie had suffered a stroke from which she never fully recovered. She is the last of a family of 10 children.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives from Albert Lea who attended the funeral services on Saturday were Oscar Haroldson, A. T. Haroldson; Mrs. Clara Johnson, Mrs. Laura Christensen, Mrs. Olga Stenseth and Mr.& Mrs. Ervin Stenseth.

STOVERN RITES HELD

St. Ansgar — Funeral services were to be held at 2 p. m. Saturday at the First Lutheran church
for Miss Marie Stovern, 74, who died Tuesday at the Mitchell county home following a stroke
which she suffered several weeks ago. The Rev. O. A. Laughehough was to officiate and burial will be in the First Lutheran cemetery.
