Word has been received here of the death of J. Norman Nelson, 82, who died at his home in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 20, 1983.

Mr. Nelson owned land in the St. Ansgar area for many years. He was the nephew of Mary Serena Nelson, the daughter of a pioneer family that farmed north of St. Ansgar. Mr. Nelson bought the Nelson family's Century Farm, which is now overseen by Dean Rockafellow of St. Ansgar. At one time Mr. Nelson also owned the farm which was purchased by the late Lawrence Allen.

Mr. Nelson is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou, who lived with him, and Mrs. C.D. (Irene) Filkins of Minnetonka, Minnesota; one son, Richard of Campbell, California, and three grandchildren.
