Funeral services for Steven Jay Thurnau, 16, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, who died monday, December 26, were held Wednesday, December 28 at the St. Ansgar Catholic church with the Rev. John Smith officiating.

Steven Jay Thurnau was born to John Jr. and Olga (Duren) Thurnau September 19, 1967. He was baptized October 1, 1967 at Queen of Peace Catholic church in Lyle, Minnesota. He was confirmed in the St. Ansgar Catholic church June 14, 1976 and attended CCD classes there. He attended the St. Ansgar Community School until his death.

He is survived by his parents, John and Olga Thurnau Jr.; three brothers, Richard and Ronnie of St. Ansgar an Scott of Bloomington, Minn.; four sisters, Bonnie Morse of St. Ansgar; Pam Lonergan of Rose Creek, Minn., Mary and Sherry Thurnau of St. Ansgar; one grandmother, Christena Thurnau of Osage; one God child, Paula Thurnau, and nieces and nephews.

Burial was in the St. Ansgar cemetery here.
