Elvira M. Kittleson was born in Grafton, Iowa, on March 29, 1911 to William and Martha (Feldt) Lutz. She was baptized into the Christian faith on April 11, 1911, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton, Iowa. As a young girl, Elvira'a family moved to Otranto, Iowa. In 1926, Elvira confirmed the faith of her baptism at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Saint Ansgar, Iowa.

Elvira graduated from Otranto High School in 1928. She then attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City, Iowa and then worked as a bookkeeper in Mason City for several years.

In May 1935, Elvira married Claire Mueller. God blessed the marriage with four children: William, Greta, Marie and Stephen. The family church was Immanuel Lutheran, Saint Ansgar. Claire died in March of 1953. Elvira then worked for several years at the St. Ansgar State Bank.

On July 16, 1965, Elvira married Julius M. Kittleson. She then joined First Lutheran Church. Julius died December 10, 1984.

Elvira had been living at the Worth living Center in Saint Ansgar for over 12 years. Recently she was living at the Good Samaritan Center. She died Friday, September 24, 1999, at the Good Samaritan Center. Her burial will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.

Elvira was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and one son, Stephen Mueller.

She is survived by one son, William Mueller of Hopkins, Minnesota; by two daughters, Greta Nickerson and her husband, Jim of Marshfield, Wisconsin; and Marie Teggatz and her husband, Leonard of Latimer, Iowa; by one daughter-in-law, Marlys Mueller of River Falls, Wisconsin; by one sister, Esther Groth of Stacyville, Iowa; by one brother, Elmer Lutz of Mason City, Iowa; by one sister-in-law, Lola Kittleson of St. Ansgar, Iowa; and by 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

ELVIRA M. KITTLESON

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Elvira M. Kittleson, 88, of St. Ansgar died on Friday (Sept. 24, 1999) at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, at the First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar with the Rev. Robert Porisch officiating. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, 207 South School Street, St. Ansgar.

Elvira was born in Grafton, Iowa, on March 29, 1911, to William and Martha (Feldt) Lutz. As a young girl she moved to Otranto. She graduated from Otranto High School in 1928 and attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City . She worked as a bookkeeper in Mason City for several years.

In May of 1935, she married Claire Mueller. Four children were born to this union. Claire died in March of 1953. Elvira then worked for several years at the St. Ansgar State Bank.

She married Julius Kittleson in July of 1965. He died in December of 1984.

Elvira had lived at the Worth Living Center for over two years and more recently at the Good Samaritan Center.

She is survived by one son, William Mueller of Hopkins, Minn.; two daughters, Gretta Nickerson and her husband Jim of Marshfield, Wis., and Marie Teggatz and her husband Leonard of Latimer; one sister, Esther Groth, of Stacyville; one brother, Elmer Lutz of Mason City; one sister-in-law, Lola Kittleson of St. Ansgar; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
