A gathering of family and friends for Mary Gina (Hungerford) Mackelprang, age 43, will take place from 5-7 p.m. Friday March 31, 2006, with a Scripture Service at 6:30 p.m., at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Private graveside inurnment services will take place Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Osage, with Rev. John Moser officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by Osage V.F.W Post 7920.

Mary passed away suddenly on Friday, November 18, 2005, at her home in El Mirage, Arizona. Memorial services were held December 10, 2005, in Peoria, Arizona with Father Ricardito Salditos officiating.

Mary was born September 12, 1962, in Osage, the daughter of Charles and Neva (Fuhrman) Hungerford. She graduated early from Osage High School with the class of 1980, and went to nursing school in Rochester, Minnesota. In October of 1980, she enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, and retired as a Technical Sergeant in December of 1996. Mary loved people, working with flowers, and paint decorating.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Hungerford, in 2003, and by her grandparents, Albert and Emma Fuhrman, and Roy and Mary Hungerford.

Mary is survived by her son, Shane Mackelprang, who is in the U.S. Marine Corps; her daughter Samantha Mackelprang, at home; her mother Neva Hungerford of Osage; her sister Ann Kienzle of Riceville; three brothers, Tim (Lisa) Hungerford of Burlington, Mark (Cyndi) Hungerford of Gladstone, Ill., and Todd (Tina) Hungerford of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; two nieces, Jennifer Hungerford and Nikki (James) Schulte; and two nephews, Jared and Gavin Hungerford.
