Funeral services for Annette Marie Brockney, 88, of Riceville, Iowa were held Friday, March 24, 2006 at the Riceville United Methodist Church in Riceville, Iowa with Pastor Thelma Colorado Subramanian officiating.

Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Riceville, Iowa. Annette passed away on Monday, March 20, 2006 at the Riceville Community Rest Home in Riceville, Iowa.

Annette, daughter of Herman and Effie (VanGravenhof) Van De Weerd was born January 9, 1918 in York ,Minn. Annette was united in marriage to Roy Frederick Brockney on January 9, 1941 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She was a homemaker .

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy and a brother Marion.

Survivors include two step-sons, Duane and his wife Judy Brockney of Osage, and Dale and his wife Margaret Brockney of Charles City; one daughter, Karen Heskett, of Minneapolis, Minn.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Guy Van De Weerd of Cresco, and Bert Van De Weerd and his wife Mary of Strongville, Ohio; and a sister Mrs. Helen Hansen of Greeley, Colo.
