Obituary - Trout

The entire community was filled with sorrow to learn of the death on Thursday, March 20, 1919, of Dewey Lancelot Trout. Dewey was born in Monroe county, W.V., Feb. 2, 1901.

In early childhood the family moved to Kansas and in 1914, to Louisana. Here his mother died in 1916.

Nearly two years ago the family came to Mitchell, where they have since made their home.

Last November he was a victim of the epidemic of influenza, which seriously impaired his health.
About the middle of February he went to Little Rock, Ark., to the hope that the milder climate and the skill of a specialist would restore his health. But about three weeks ago he was stricken with measles, followed by pneumonia, from which he passed away as above stated.

The funeral service was held on Sunday in the cemetery of Mitchell, immediately after the arrival of the afternoon train, which brought the body, accompanied by the father, Elbert W. Trout.

The service was conducted by Rev. Galbreth, Methodist pastor of the St. Ansgar church. A quartet composed of the following named young ladies: Misses Bertha Cordes, Bernice Jones, Doris Coon and Mrs. Robert Loney, sang two choice selections.

Universal sympathy is extended to the father, the aged grandfather, S. J. Trout, to the brothers, Palmer, Herbert, Milton, Wilma and Loxie.

In the passing of Dewey the home has lost a devoted son and brother, the Sunday school and church, a faithful attendant and the community a good citizen.
