Esther Mayer
Esther C. "Pat" Mayer, 76, of 214 Frontenac Road, died on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, at her home.
Born February 14, 1929, in Stacyville, Iowa, to John and Elizabeth Rauen Isaac, she married Elmer Joseph Mayer on Sept. 16, 1950, in Stacyville.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Melinda (William) Bechaz of Omaha, Nebraska, and Teresa Mayer of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; three sons: Richard (Argelia) Mayer of Newburgh, Indiana, Timothy (Barbara) Mayer of Metamora and Thomas (Donna) Mayer of Louisville, Kentucky; eight grandchildren: Brett, Jill and Kyle Bechaz, all of Omaha, Ryan Mayer of Newburgh, Melissa Haickel of Salvador, Brazil, Kyle and Kelly Jo Mayer, both of Metamora and Ian Mayer of Louisville; two sisters, Bert Pint and Lorraine (Leo) Meitner both of Osage; and one brother, Harold (Kay) Isaac of Stacyville.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Verlyn Isaac.
She was a 1946 graduate of Stacyville High School and a 1949 graduate of Mercy School of Nursing in Mason City Iowa.
Mrs. Mayer was a registered nurse at Pekin Hospital from 1953 to 1991 and continued volunteer nursing at the Heartland Clinic in Peoria.
