Mrs. Mary L. Evelith [sic] died yesterday morning at the home of Mr. L.G. McKinley, in Newburg; aged 67 years, 7 months and 19 days.
Mary Louisa Eveleth was born in Starksboro, Vermont, August 11, 1818. In 1837 she was married to Ervin B. McCollough, and in 1848 they removed to Dane County, Wisconsin. In May, 1850, her husband died, after which she removed to New York with her family, returning in the summer of 1852. By this union she had five children , three of whom are now living in this State, one in Wisconsin and one in Minnesota.
In March, 1853, she was married to Rev. Philip Eveleth, of Sun Prairie, Dane county, Wisconsin, where they resided until in October, 1863, when they removed to Mitchell county, Iowa, and settled in Newburg township.
After residence of about eleven years they removed in 1874 to Worth county, where they resided until about two years ago, when, from failing health, they broke up housekeeping and returned to Mitchell county to live with their children.
Two children were born to them. At the time of her death she was living with her youngest daughter, Mrs. L.G. McKinley. Her husband and all of her children survive to mourn her loss.
At the age of eight years she was converted and united with the M.E. Church of which she has always been a devoted and consistent member.
The funeral services will take place at the M.E. Church in St. Ansgar to-morrow morning at 10:30 a.m. and will be conducted by Rev. J. Bretnell.
