The death of Mrs. Fannie Finlay Laughlin was very unexpected, and has thrown a shade of sadness over her many friends in St. Ansgar.

We are glad to learn that in the trying hour she was sustained by the consolations of the Christian religion. It is a lesson to us all to be also ready.

On the 29th of August, Mrs. Fannie Finley, wife of Millard Laughlin, died at the residence of Lemuel Hill, in Lincoln township, aged 17 years, 6 months and 11 days. She was the daughter of Wm. Finley, and had only been married about six weeks.

She died of typhoid fever, and was only sick about 6 days.

The deceased formerly lived at St. Ansgar, and was highly esteemed by all her acquaintances. The family and friends have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.

Same paper, page & issue date:
We noticed Wm. Finley, of Dakota, formerly of St. Ansgar, on our streets yesterday. William says he is doing well out there, and feels contented. He returns this week.
