Funeral services were held July 9, 1994 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church for Olga Halverson, 92, of St. Ansgar, formerly of Osage. Rev. Dennis Hanson officiated and burial was in the First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar. She died July 7, 1994 at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar.
She was born February 9, 1902 near Osage to Carl and Sedsel (Evenson) Halverson. She attended area rural schools and graduated from Osage High School and Minneapolis Business College and attended St. Olaf College. Olga taught in rural schools in Mitchell County and was assistant to County Superintendent of Schools for over 25 years. She retired to Osage.
She was a member of Wa-Tan-Ye and Retired Teacher's Birthday Club.
Preceding her in death were her parents, one sister, and two brothers.
Survivors include three sisters, Evelyn Brown of Charles City, Marlan Smalley of Osage and Jeannette Halverson of Arlington, WI; and one brother, Ben Halverson of Osage.
