Funeral services were held August 11, 1990 at Zion Lutheran Church, Stewartville, MN. for Lula V. Gunderson, 87, of Stewartville, MN. Rev. Perry Hanson officiated and burial was in the First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar. She died August 7, 1990 at Maple Manor Nursing Home, Rochester, MN. She was formerly of Otranto, Ventura and Clear Lake.
Mrs. Gunderson was born July 27, 1903 in Rock township to Ed and Mathida (Ask) Nelson. She was raised in the Otranto area where she attended school. She married Knut Gunderson on March 28, 1923 at St. Ansgar. They farmed near Lyle, MN and in the Ventura and Clear Lake areas. Her husband, Knut, worked for the city of Clear Lake. She had lived in Stewartville, MN for the past several years.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Knut, in 1971, one daughter, three sisters, and three brothers.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Gloria) Hunst of Rochester, MN; one son, Cyrus of Ventura; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Roy (Laura) Witt of Osage.
