Lanita was a dedicated wife to her husband for over 50 years in farming the Koster family farm. Her many farm duties included driving the tractor, picking corn with a two-row cornpicker, tending the baby chicks, mothering the newborn lambs, and was in charge of keeping the men fed while out in the fields. She never let anyone go hungry. She would not take “No” for an answer.
She worked as a cashier for the St. Ansgar Cedar Valley Electric, held various job positions for 13 ½ years at the Good Samaritan Center. Lanita served as administrator of the Mitchell County Care Facility for 6 ½ years. She always said she was put there to help set those people free.

She enjoyed family vacations up North camping, fishing and hunting, playing 500 and bridge with the local gals and cribbage with Dad. She loved watching her iris’ and other flowers bloom throughout the Spring and Summer months. She was involved in the St. Ansgar Garden Club.
She loved her family and always made them aware of how blessed she was. The annual family gatherings at the farm orchard over Labor Day weekend was something she really looked forward to She always furnished the coffee and you could find her peeling the potatoes for the Sunday campfire stew that everyone enjoyed.
She was a women with great faith and prayer and was dedicated to the Lord. She read her Bible faithfully and journaled about her relationship with Christ and what she had learned from Him that day. One of her favorite things she looked forward to each week was hosting a Women’s bible Study in her home. The coffee was always on and she always had a sweet treat for everyone.
Mom will be remembered being devoted to living her life to the fullest, sharing love in serving others, with her warm smile and hugs, special Birthday phone calls, and generosity.
